STUDENTS: Do not login at gmail.com. Gmail is disabled for student accounts.
Go to admin.google.com and log in there. If Classroom does not appear on the list, click on the 9-square menu (looks like a phone keypad) in the upper right, click on "More" at the bottom, and Classroom should appear.
When going to the Hot Lunch form "tab" you will notice that forms for Penne Vodka Package ($4.00), Mozzarella Sticks ($4.00) and Rice Balls are missing. Due to "website" construction you will need to hand write the Penne Vodka, Mozzarella Sticks and Rice Ball (Rice Ball Package - $4.00, Rice Ball $3.00) forms at this time. Thank you.

Dear OLGCA Family,
The school year has been off to a great start! It was wonderful to see so many of you for our Back to School night on Monday. Here are just a few notes for the next week or so.
Since we have our purple shirt fundraiser for ITP research and carnival day intersecting tomorrow, it requires some flexibility in the uniform.
Students may wear any uniform (dress, summer, or gym). School shoes go with dress or summer uniform, and sneakers go with gym uniform, as always. If you have concerns about school shoes, keep in mind that they wear them every day at recess, where they are very active. If they are participating in the fundraiser, they may swap out their uniform shirt for a purple one.
As you know, Pope Francis is visiting New York over the next few days. Did you know that he also has been “visiting” OLGCA? Each school in the diocese received a Pope Francis doll that has been blessed and we have been taking and posting pictures of the Pope with our students, faculty, and staff. These will be up on our website www.olgbk.org shortly, but some can already be seen at http://ctnbq.org/our-lady-of-grace-catholic-academy/.
So far, you can see him playing with Mrs. Gioia’s Nursery class, reading with Ms. Donnelly’s First Graders, and being put through his paces in Gym class with Ms. Arias. More will be added over the course of the school year! We would also like to invite families to take the Pope home and take photos of your family with him. Please contact me at email@example.com if you would like to participate! Again, this will be a year-long initiative.
The website is being converted so that no registration/login is needed in order to see teachers’ homework pages. This will take place sometime in the next few days or so. It is our hope that this will make access for parents and students easier.
Have a blessed weekend and I hope to see you all at the carnival! Check the website for times!
Sincerely in Christ,
Mrs. Meghan M. Sarno
Happy, happy first day of school to all! See you all in the schoolyard by 8:20!
Dismissal is 11:30 as follows:
Grades Kindergarten, 1, and 2 in the schoolyard (when Nursery begins, they will dismiss in the schoolyard also).
Grades 3, 4, and 5 at the main entrance on East 3rd Street.
Grades 6, 7, and 8 on Ave W.
See you soon!
Parents of Nursery students from OLG who graduated in June should either have been contacted by DOE or will be contacted soon.
Parents with UPK-eligible children, who did not attend Nursery here, who would like to enroll in the PreK program being held at this site should visit https://maps.nyc.gov/upk/ and click the "Call Me" button to have a representative contact you.
Or, call 212-637-8000 to speak directly to someone at the Department of Ed. The proper name is "PreK Center at 385 Avenue W" and the program code is 21Z077.
Please keep in mind that although PreK is being held at our site, it is not being conducted by Our Lady of Grace. Therefore all registration has to go through the Dept. of Education, and PreK students will follow the public school calendar.
Thank you for your continued patience with this process.
More info to come, so watch here, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Our-Lady-of-Grace-Brooklyn/334797956669713, and on Twitter @OLGSchoolBrooklyn!

Just - graduated Nursery students:
Just got off the phone with Diocese and DOE. The final word is:
-UPK is definitely 100% happening in September at our site.
-All of our just-graduated Nursery students definitely 100% have a seat there.
-I have re-forwarded our student contact information to DOE and you should be getting a phone call from Brian Fritch's office in the next few days to have them take you through the registration process individually.
-It is going to be an alternative registration process so you do not have to register through the website.
If you do not hear from them by Tuesday, let me know. I will be at a reading conference in Boston but will of course have access to email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Breathe easy and have a good night.
I am aware of the issue with the (non)listing of our site on the Dept. of Education website.
Although the school is not involved in the listing process, I am in constant contact with the Diocese and the Dept. of Ed to resolve this issue. I have been reassured that our Nursery students still comprise the priority list for the site and will still have first priority when the listing becomes available. Updates will appear here when I receive them. As I am in and out of the office during the summer, the quickest way to communicate with me is via email: email@example.com. Thank you.
Special discounted rates for OLG students and financial assistance available.
Paid Dress Down will be every Friday unless notified otherwise.
Medical forms were issued to Nursery and Pre-K. They must be returned in September with all highlighted areas filled out.
All students entering 6th grade are required to have a Tdap & V2U#2 vaccines. The forms were sent home with all missing immunizations listed. A proof of immunization must be sent to school in September.
All children who had MAF services last year were issued new forms. If your child requires this service, please send completed forms at the beginning of the school year.
Students are not allowed to bring any medication to school and the Nurse cannot administer any medication without proper paperwork. If your child needs to take meds during school either daily or as necessary, please contact school nurse at 718-375-2081.
Have a great summer!
G. Auranch, OLG Nurse
There is still time to sign up for band if you have not already. Please bring your form in as soon as possible. Stop by the office if you need a new form.
Band will be every Thursday unless otherwise notifed. Don't forget to bring your instrument.
Note to all parents and students: Please be respectful of our neighbors!
-There have been some issues regarding our neighbors. We have received calls asking that we refrain from blocking driveways, sitting on steps, dropping garbage on the sidewalk or street, etc. Please be mindful of our community and taking care of the people and places around us.
-The website is running more smoothly now; however, we are aware that some are still having issues. They are being worked on and in some cases may take a little time to resolve. Thank you for your patience with this slightly bumpy start.
Due to technical difficulties (a stubborn copier!) not all classes were able to receive their paper copies of the handbook today. However, you can still view the handbook by going to the "Parents" button on the top of this page, and clicking on "Parent/Student Handbook". Thank you.
Please re-register on this new site!
Parents and students, if you have not registered on this new site olgbk.org, please take a moment and do that today. Use the tab in the upper right hand corner to begin. You need to do this even if you were already registered on the old site. Thank you.
Please be patient as we improve our web presence to be bigger and better. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please give us a call in the office at 718-375-2081!
